Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 07/16/16 to 07/22/16
For 07/16/16 to 07/22/16:
Deliveries
- Subcontractors will receive deliveries all week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road.
Onsite Construction
Saturday 07/16/16 – Working 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Permission and permitting have been secured from the City to work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Demolition throughout building – Interior
- Load out of dumpsters on the Beacon Street side of the building – Dumpster will be swapped throughout the day.
- Activities will require trucks and equipment in the point park area – Access from Bay State Road will be required for dumpsters and equipment.
- Installation of steel in the Annex alley between Myles and the Annex on the Bay State Road side of building.
Man and Material Hoist Construction
- Concrete masonry unit (CMU) block infills around gates at all floors.
- Constructing wood loading dock around perimeter of hoist base.
Demolition Abatement
- Load out at Beacon Street – Load out demolition debris from 1st floor to dumpster with ongoing daily dumpster swaps.
- Continue with load out down chute – Interior
- Demolition and load out of basement
- Abatement on floors 4, 5, and 6 – Interior
- Demolition of floors 7 and 8 – Interior
- Continue with demolition of existing freight elevator and floors 2 and 3 – Interior
Masonry Restoration (Exterior)
- Continue with masonry demo on the Bay State Road side of the building.
- Continue installation of CMU at 9th floor on the Bay State Road side of the building.
- Continue with masonry facade demo on the Beacon Street side of the building at 9th floor.
- Continue with masonry demo on swing above the Annex.
- Start installation of relieving angles on the Bay State Road side of building.
Roof (Exterior)
- Continue with layout and installation of CMU at parapet on the Bay State Road side of the building.
Alley Between Annex and Myles at Bay State Road
- Installation of steel for transformer pad.
- Start forming for concrete at transformer pad and squash court in basement.
- Site work – Bring drain line in off of Bay State Road and then into the alley.
- Alley underground electrical and drainage
