Anticipated construction activities for the week of January 7 – January 11:
**The contractor will be working on Saturday, 1/5/2013, beginning at 8:00am doing advanced preparation for the demolition of 278 Babcock Street**
1. Building Demolition: The demolition of 278 Babcock will begin early in the week and is expected to be completed by Thursday, January 10th. Measures will be put in place for dust control and safety. Police details will be present. You can expect a potential increase in construction noise due to the amount of equipment on the site for the demolition process.
2. Trucking of Demolition Debris: The contractor will begin hauling demolition debris off-site on Thursday, January 10th. There will be a noticeable increase in truck volume. Trucks will enter the site from Babcock Street and will leave by heading out Alcorn Street to Comm Ave. Police details will be present to facilitate traffic on Babcock Street itself and at the intersections of Babcock St/Comm Ave and Alcorn Street/Comm Ave. We expect trucking to last approximately 10 days. The contractor will also be trucking on Saturdays, beginning at 8:00am.
3. Site Work: There will be increased removal of excavated soils off-site. This will result in increased truck traffic.
4. Concrete Work: The delivery of concrete materials to the site will continue. You can expect construction traffic in the form of deliveries of rebar, formwork, and concrete to continue throughout the week, and installation of cast in place concrete foundations is ongoing.
