Peter J. Cusato
Vice President for Auxiliary Services
After starting his career with the government, Peter J. Cusato joined BU’s Budget Office in 1980. Since then, he’s managed support departments with total operating budgets exceeding $170 million annually.
As VP for Auxiliary Services, Cusato manages on-campus housing for over 11,000 undergraduates and vending and dining services that include a multi-restaurant food court. His office also has responsibility for a for-profit chain of convenience stores, parking and transportation, risk management, and conferences at BU venues.

- HousingHousing provides and manages the 160 residences that 11,000 students call home. As well as organizing summer housing, it also runs our Terrier student ID and payment card plan.
- Parking & Transportation ServicesParking & Transportation Services manages our parking facilities, as well as a web-based rideshare program. It also manages the campus shuttle bus and MBTA passes for students and staff.
- Risk ManagementRisk Management administers insurance coverage and helps the University learn from the risk mistakes of other organizations, providing advice on issues as diverse as workers’ compensation and student film-making. It also manages any claims.
- Vending ServicesVending Services does more than keep our vending machines in working order, it also offers a laundry service and microfridges for student dorms.
