From Jeanne Moreau to Diane Krüger 50 Years of French-German Friendship on Film (April - June 2013). On January 22, 1963, Konrad Adenauer and Charles de Gaulle signed the Élysée Treaty, establishing the foundation for a lasting German-French friendship and cooperation. The Goethe-Institut and the French Consulate, Boston celebrate the 50th anniversary of this post-war reconciliation with an exhibition and a film series, featuring Silver Screen Classics, each of them connecting France and Germany. The films were all made during the five decades of the Élysée Treaty and feature either a German star working under a French director, a French novel made into a German film or the other way around: all of the films are French-German collaborations and all of them made film history. All films are exceptional works of art, made in historically imperfect times. Tickets $5.
