BU Europe gives undergraduate and graduate students—whether they are from Europe, pursuing European topics in their research, or just interested in knowing more about Europe—the opportunity to meet regularly, to share their love of European culture, and most importantly, to have fun. The club provides a platform for students to compare European and American ideas as well as to strengthen mutual understanding on both sides of the Atlantic.
The mission of BU Europe is to provide a quick and easy way for students to learn more about Europe and to incorporate European culture into campus life. In addition to discussions of current events in Europe with academics and professionals, including members of local business and diplomatic communities, the club organizes social gatherings, film screenings, and cultural outings. In planning its activities, BU Europe coordinates with BU’s Center for the Study of Europe and other departments, including History and International Relations, as well as local cultural organizations, such as the Goethe Institute, the Instituto Cervantes, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
