James Hoge

James Hoge is editor of Foreign Affairs, a magazine of analysis and commentary on international affairs and foreign policy, and a member of the Institute’s Board of Directors. Prior to joining Foreign Affairs in September 1992, Mr. Hoge spent three decades in newspaper journalism. In the 1960s, he was a Washington correspondent, covering the Congress, national politics and a number of international assignments.  During the 1970s and '80s, he was editor and publisher of metropolitan newspapers in Chicago and New York.  Under his leadership, the Chicago Sun-Times won six Pulitzer Prizes for journalistic excellence and the New York Daily News one.
