Graduate Program
Andrew Kurtz, Director of Graduate Studies and Graduate Admissions
The Department of Earth Sciences offers programs leading to the MA and PhD degrees in Earth Sciences and the MA degree in Geoarchaeology (joint with the Archaeology department). The program prepares students for careers in academia, applied research, employment with state and federal agencies, and positions of responsibility in private consulting organizations. Both degrees emphasize original research in an area of expertise, under the guidance of a faculty advisor within the department. For information on research areas or directions, please visit the faculty web pages, or browse our list of current opportunities for graduate student research. For further information email us at earth@bu.edu.
