Utilizing effective time management and academic skills
If only we had more hours in the day! Are you able to juggle all your classes and activities effectively? This workshop series explores how to develop skills in creating a stress-free time management and study system as well as incorporate critical skills that will serve you for a lifetime. The topics for each week are as follows:

Syllabus Management
Interpreting and managing the information on a course syllabus is one of the keys to academic success.Attend this workshop to learn some valuable tips on using your syllabus as a resource to anticipate and predict your coursework, and to map out your semester. Tuesday September 8, 4-5pm CAS 208
Managing Time Wisely/Procrastination
What are you waiting for? Join us to learn what procrastination is and is not and identify how you spend your time. You will learn strategies for managing procrastination and implement at least one strategy during the workshop. Tuesday September 15, 4-5pm GSU 320-321
Note Taking
Would you like to learn how to take better notes?Do you find yourself just doodling in class or don’t know what you should be writing?Are unsure how to take notes while reading your text book? Come to this seminar to learn how to take better notes and how to use them to study throughout the semester. Tuesday September 22 4-5pm GSU 320-321
Effective Test Preparation – When do I begin?
You will take away from this workshop a strategy for studying that will take the guesswork out of how to prepare for your exams. Discussion will include managing study time, outlining and organizing essay questions, using test time effectively, and recognizing various types of multiple choice questions. Got Sleep? – Avoiding the All-Nighter
Falling asleep in class?Can’t remember the last time you got a good night’s sleep?You’re not alone!Getting sleep in college seems nearly impossible, but there are some key strategies to help you make sleep, rest and relaxation a part of your daily schedule.Come join this workshop to discuss common sleeping problems and learn new ways to get your zzzs. Stress and Tests: Strategies for Reducing Test Anxiety
Are you nervous when taking exams? Does your mind go blank? Join us to explore the various types of test anxiety that just might be interfering with your test taking. This workshop will present and discuss strategies designed to anticipate as well as confront test anxiety.You will also receive various resource materials on relaxation and effective test preparation. Successful Interviewing Techniques

Mid-term to Finals: Using your Tests to Improve Performance
You will take away from this workshop a strategy for reviewing your previous tests for improvement on future tests.Discussion will include evaluating previous study and preparation time, outlining and organizing a future study plan, and using test time effectively. Tuesday December 1, 4-5pm CAS 208
