About Peer Tutoring

Welcome to the certified ERC Tutoring Program.

Peer tutors complement the student’s classroom experience, as well as provide insight into becoming a more successful and well-organized learner. Our tutors are undergraduate students recruited from various schools and colleges at the University and are recommended by BU faculty. This is a free service to BU students.

The ERC Tutoring Center is certified by and meets the stringent training and evaluation standards set by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), an international organization of learning assistance professionals.

To Request a Tutor:

Interested students should visit the ERC to register and request a peer tutor. The ERC makes every effort to complete tutor assignments within 7 business days of receiving the tutoring request (subject to availability of tutors).

Please read the ERC’s Tutoring Policies, and the Tips for a Successful Tutoring Sessions before you meet with your tutor in order to ensure that your sessions are productive.

If you have questions about the Tutoring Program, please contact Michael Lantvet, Academic Support Specialist, at 617-353-7077 or via e-mail with questions.

Best wishes for a great semester!
