Sarah Garibova

Assistant Director for Outreach

As the Assistant Director for Outreach, Sarah facilitates a wide variety of academic support programming for undergraduate and graduate students, including FY103: Academic Strategies and the Dissertation Writing Workshop. She also oversees the Language Link program and builds partnerships with faculty and staff across campus. During one-on-one Academic Skills Advising appointments, she especially enjoys working with students on their critical reading and study skills.

Sarah graduated from the University of Washington (in Seattle) with a B.A. in Russian area studies. In 2017, she completed her Ph.D. in history at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the ERC, Sarah was a visiting professor at Pennsylvania State University and was a visiting scholar at Yale University.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, baking, and traveling. Music and dance are two of her greatest joys in life, and she takes full advantage of Boston’s rich cultural scene by attending as many classical, Balkan, and klezmer concerts as possible.
