Freshman & Transfer Resource Advisors

All incoming students to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) are provided the opportunity to have a Freshman Resource Advisor (FRA) or Transfer Resource Advisor (TRA). FRAs and TRAs are upperclassmen in CAS who help ease the transition of freshmen and transfer students into college life at BU.

FRAs and TRAs will introduce new students to campus resources, help prepare students for the academic rigors of CAS, and serve as a friendly face and guide in those early days on campus.

CAS incoming students meet with their FRAs and TRAs (in small groups of students) during Opening Weekend and throughout the academic year. In addition to providing information about courses, registration, and academic success strategies, students are able to participate in a variety of social activities and outings that their FRAs and TRAs have coordinated.

Students in colleges and schools other than CAS receive peer advising through their respective college or school.
