U-Launch helps cleantech companies spinning out of university environments reach the next stage of development with tailored start-up assistance grants. U-Launch Awards are designed to support post-university commercialization of early stage cleantech. These awards consist of cash and funded services by the DOE Innovation Ecosystem Development Initiative. Awards are administered by the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy, the New England Clean Energy Foundation, the Association of Cleantech Incubators of New England, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

Applications are currently being accepted from any clean energy entrepreneurs and innovators within BU. After announcing the first two awards to two university-developed cleantech businesses, applications are being solicited for the second round of U-Launch awards. U-Launch was pleased to receive an application from iBLogix with BU ties, which was awarded one of the inaugural U-Launch grants.

Additionally U-Launch has just agreed to a partnership with the Cleantech Open Northeast Regional Business Competition in which $20,000 in cash and funded services will be provided to a Regional Semifinalist.

Please see the U-Launch website for additional information.
