Coffee & Conversation: Is there still an "album of the summer?"

For decades, pop artists would drop albums that would grow into summer anthems. Whether at parties, at home, or on the radio, you could not get away from a few key tracks from the months of May to August. With today’s evolution in how we listen to music, are albums of the summer still a phenomenon? Have we scaled back to song(s) of the summer? Do we still have dominant pop stars in the vein of Madonna, Britney and the Beatles, or are stars dependent on genre? What makes a summer album or summer song?
