General Computing:

During the first part of the fall and spring semesters, Information Services & Technology offers free tutorials in computing to the Boston University community.  These short, noncredit tutorials run one to three hours in length and are generally offered in a hands-on format.  Many topics are covered, including:

- Adobe Photoshop
- BU Linux
- FileMaker Pro
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Perl
- SAS and SPSS
- Scientific Computing and Visualization Topics (online tutorials)
- UNIX
- Web Development

Most tutorials require advance registration.  A complete list of tutorials, including detailed course descriptions, meeting times, locations, and registration information, is available at:

High Performance Computing:

A two-day high performance computing workshop will be held at Boston University on October 13-14, 2009.  There is no fee for the workshop and it is open to anyone interested in high-performance computing. There will be sessions on parallel processing with MPI, parallel processing with OpenMP, and code performance.

Participants are welcome to attend all sessions, or to pick and choose individual sessions of interest.
