Andrew C. Jackson, Ph.D.

Professor, Biomedical Engineering

Professor, Biomedical Engineering

  • Primary Appointment Professor, Biomedical Engineering
  • Education Ph.D., Biophysics and Physiology, University of Mississippi Medical School
B.S., M.S., Mechanical Engineering, University of Nevada
  • Research Areas Respiratory physiology; respiratory mechanics.

Dr. Jackson investigates the application of engineering principles to the understanding of the mechanical properties of the human respiratory system. Specifically, his research efforts have been focused on computer modeling of the respiratory system, development of noninvasive tests of pulmonary function (particularly in infants), including fluid mechanics and acoustic phenomena in the airways, online patient monitoring of the respiratory system, and application of systems identification techniques to respiratory impedance data.
