ENG by the Numbers The College's grant income increased from $17.5 million in fiscal 2000 to $24.8 million in 2001. Primary sources of grant income were the National Science Foundation ($6.3 million), the National Institutes of Health ($4.2 million), and the Office of Naval Research ($3.3 million). The Biomedical Engineering Department led in grants, with some $13.4 million, followed by Electrical and Computer Engineering with $6.4 million, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with $3.3 million, and Manufacturing Engineering with $1.7 million. The number of full-time students in academic
year 2001 was 1,499, down slightly from the previous year. The College
awarded 242 bachelor's degrees in 2001, 97 master's degrees, and 25
doctorates. |
