NEW WITH YOU? Dan Tokar ('64, GSM'64) of Prescott, Ariz., got his B.S. in engineering and "spent most of my career (auto industry and mining) doing it." He is in touch with Barry Rickard ('63) and wonders what happened to Phil Winterson ('62) and Jack O'Neil ('62). William H. O'Brien ('65, SED'80) of East Bridgewater, Mass., teaches physics and astronomy at Randolph High School and Massasoit Community College, and electricity for the Virtual High School. Anthony Sarro, Jr. ('81) of Flushing, N.Y., is president of Medical Practice Innovations, a medical management and billing service company. He is also vice president of Sequel Systems, Inc., a practice management software company. He married Maria in October 1999. Raymond Horn ('83) of Bethesda, Md., is director of marketing and support for Nucletron Corp., a Dutch medical equipment provider that specializes in radiation therapy equipment for cancer treatment. Raymond is married to Aileen and has two children, Risa, 9, and David, 7. Stewart O'Nan ('83) of Avon, Conn., recently received the Salon.com Book Award and the International Horror Guild Award for his latest novel, A Prayer for the Dying. The New York Times and Publishers Weekly also cited it as a best book of the year. His newest book, The Circus Fire, came out this summer. Jui-Tai Wang ('85) of Holmdel, N.J., recently became a district manager at AT&T. Sean M. Casey ('88) of New Albany, Ohio, founded a law firm that practices intellectual property law exclusively. The patent-law portion of his practice is concentrated in mechanical, electromechanical, computer (hardware and software), and biomedical technology issues. Michael Colman ('88), a Navy lieutenant commander, recently returned from being stationed in Japan and has begun his department head tour with Patrol Squadron 8 at the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Maine. A trust fund has been established to assist him and his children, Rebecca, 5, Aidan, 3, and twins Lydia and Molly, born August 1. Arthur Pantelides ('89, '91) of Virginia Beach, Va., was married in Greece in 1998 and is currently the R&D manager at Sumitomo Heavy Industries, where he has worked for eight years. Kristen Petersen-Ruiz ('89, GSM'93) of Hingham, Mass., married Willy Ruiz ('82, '83, '91, GSM'93). They are expecting a baby in May and already have a two-year-old daughter, Isabel. Kristen is an at-home consultant. Robert Clarke ('90) and Erika Eichner Clarke (CAS'92) of Boston, Mass., were married in September 1999 at Marsh Chapel, with a reception at The Castle. Erika is a commercial real estate property manager for Equity Office, Inc., and Bob recently completed a fellowship at Harvard University and is a toxicologist at Alkermes, Inc. Gonzales ('91, '94) of San Antonio, Tex., is currently in residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center and will start a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care in July 2001 at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Evan Sherr (CAS'87, ENG'91, '96, ) of Ashland, Mass., is a program manager at Cynosure, a medical laser company. He also consults in ophthalmology, diagnostic instrumentation, and therapeutic ultrasound. He married Betsy Baird almost four years ago, and they have an 18-month-old son, Julian Robert. Ali Behnia ('92) of Columbia, Md., is assistant professor and director of pre-doctoral endodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School Department of Endodontics. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in neuroscience at the University of Maryland. Rob Schleicher ('92) of Kenosha, Wisc., and his wife, Lydia, announce the birth of their son, Connor Andrew, on August 26. George Mantis ('95) of Marietta, Ga., is pursuing a Ph.D. at the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Aerospace Engineering, researching hypersonic vehicle design. Eleven BU alumni attended the wedding "and made the day all the more enjoyable for us." Kathleen Costa ('97) of Hermosa Beach, Calif., is in her third year of graduate school at the University of Southern California. She is working on a Ph.D. in biomechanics, with plans to take screening exams at the end of next summer and to start dissertation work next fall. She has been a teaching assistant in undergraduate kinesiology and biomechanics labs the past three years at USC. Next semester Kathleen will also teach two kinesiology labs at Pepperdine University in Malibu. "I do miss Boston occasionally," she writes. "But then I remember the cold, and I get over it. I try to visit at least once a year so it stays fresh in my mind and heart." Carlos Moreira ('99) of Attleboro, Mass., is the computer systems manager for the BU College of Engineering.
