Microsoft Office 2010
Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is pleased to announce our training classes for the individual applications from the Microsoft Office 2010 suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Our non-credit tutorials are two hours long and offer hands-on exercises to help reinforce the material. These tutorials are listed on the IS&T website with meeting times, class descriptions, room locations and online registration information.

Advance registration is highly recommended for all tutorials to ensure seating and handout availability. Please note that seating is limited. Although seats occasionally become available for walk-ins, registration through the website is the only way to guarantee your place in a session.

During the first part of the fall and spring semesters, Information Services & Technology offers free tutorials in computing to the Boston University community. These short, noncredit tutorials run one to three hours in length and are generally offered in a hands-on format. Many topics are covered, including:
- Adobe Photoshop
- BU Linux
- FileMaker Pro
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- SAS and SPSS
- Scientific Computing and Visualization Topics (online tutorials)
- Web Development

High Performance Computing
A two-day high performance computing workshop will be held at Boston University on October 13-14, 2009. There is no fee for the workshop and it is open to anyone interested in high-performance computing. There will be sessions on parallel processing with MPI, parallel processing with OpenMP, and code performance.
Participants are welcome to attend all sessions, or to pick and choose individual sessions of interest.

WordPress Training for BU Site Editors
IS&T has scheduled two WordPress introductory training classes next week — one on the Medical Campus (6/30, 2pm – 4pm) and one on the Charles River Campus (6/29, 10am – 12pm).
Any new contributors or new WordPress administrators that could use this training, please visit www.bu.edu/tech/training to register for one of these sessions. Seating is limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
Please note that due to the upcoming BUworks project implementation, IS&T will not be able to offer another training session until late summer or possibly into the fall.
