Among the graduating seniors in the College of Engineering,
- The top 5 percent will be awarded degrees Summa Cum Laude
- The next 10 percent will be awarded degrees Magna Cum Laude
- The next 15 percent will be awarded degrees Cum Laude
GPA cut-offs for each honors are determined as early as February 1 of each year, and will apply to the May graduates as well as the subsequent September and January graduates.
Boston University does not publish GPA cutoffs for Latin Honors. Students can check Degree Advice or the Diploma and Graduation Information link under the Academics tab of the StudentLink to see their Latin Honors awards. Honors for the class of ’23 have been posted.
May graduates whose final semester grades improve their GPAs sufficiently to move them into a higher Latin Honors category will be assigned those honors.
