ENG COMMENCEMENT 2008

The College of Engineering is pleased to welcome members of the Class of 2008, and their families, to participate in Commencement 2008!

The College of Engineering Graduation website will be open for eligible seniors in March 2008. If seniors have any questions regarding graduation in general, feel free to email us at engineering@bu.edu.

General information regarding commencement day is noted below for your convenience.

 

The schedule for the day is:

9:00 am Baccalaureate Service - Marsh Chapel
10:15 am Line Up for All University Commencement - Harry Agganis Way
11:00 am All University Commencement - Nickerson Field
2:00 pm Line Up for ENG Convocation - Track and Tennis Center
2:30 pm ENG Convocation - Track and Tennis Center

Immediately following the All University Commencement ceremony, there will be a light buffet reception for all College of Engineering students and families at the Track and Tennis Center.

 

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How can I order photographs of the event?

A: Commencement Photos Inc. photographs every student who receives a degree on stage during the ceremony. If you do not receive information in the mail by the end of April, feel free to contact them directly via their website at www.commencementphotos.com.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of guests I can bring?
A: No, there is no limit at College of Engineering Ceremony at the Track and Tennis Center. We do require that you let us know how many people you plan to bring to the ceremony, so that we can properly prepare for the event. Eligible seniors must log on to www.bu.edu/eng/graduation to complete the form noting this information by a date to be determined.

Q: Do my guests need tickets?
A: No tickets are required for either ceremony. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: What if I or one of my guests requires handicapped seating or other accomodations?

A: We do need to know you/your guest's requirement in advance. Families should call the Undergraduate Programs Office at 617-353-6447 to discuss their specific needs by May 9th.

Q: Will we have a rehearsal like we did in high school?
A: No, there is no rehearsal for either ceremony.

Q: How early should our guests arrive?
A: For the main ceremony, it is recommended that guests arrive by 10:00 am. For the College of Engineering ceremony, 1:00 pm.

Q: What is the Baccalaureate Service at Marsh Chapel at 9 am on commencement day?
A: It is the non-denominational religious service for those interested; attendance is not required.

Q: Is it necessary to attend the main ceremony on Nickerson?
A: No, it it not required but strongly encouraged.

Q: Approximately how long is the College of Engineering ceremony?
A: The ceremony lasts approximately an hour and 45 minutes.
