College of Engineering

Introduction to Engineering &
     Freshman Advising Seminar

Introduction to Engineering lets students tackle engineering problems as freshmen. The small classes, or “modules,” that comprise the Introduction to Engineering course cover a range of engineering topics that introduce students to the principles and practices of engineering at Boston University. Click here for syllabus and modules.

The Freshman Advising Seminar consists of a series of meetings, including lectures for the entire class in which students are exposed to the inner workings of the College and gain a better understanding of engineering as a discipline and the ethical responsibilities of an engineer. Students also meet in small groups with both student and faculty advisors to plan their schedules and discuss adjustment issues. Click here for more information about the Freshman Advising Seminar.
