OBJECTIVE: To develop a method of detecting genetic material of a bacterial cells in clinical specimens (e.g. blood, tissue, or enrichment culture) in order to identify various microbes, including infectious agents, as well as food and waterborne pathogenic bacteria, with extremely high specificity.
