College of Engineering Dean Kenneth R. Lutchen has announced the appointment of Associate Professor John White as chairman ad interim of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, effective Sept. 1.
White, who also holds a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at the Medical School, has served as BME’s associate chair for undergraduate and graduate studies. Uday Pal named MFG Chairman ad interim
By Chhavi Sachdev
College of Engineering Dean Kenneth R. Lutchen has announced the appointment of Professor Uday B. Pal as chairman ad interim of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, effective October 1.
Pal’s appointment comes as Professor Thomas Bifano steps down as MFG chairman and takes the helm as director of the Photonics Center.
“Uday [has] an extraordinary record of accomplishment in materials science and engineering coupled to the manufacturing of materials for structural and new energy applications,” said Lutchen in announcing the appointment. “It is important that the department has an interim chair with a local, national and international pulse of how the current manufacturing curriculum and department relates to these areas.”
