Bring a friend or your entire family to the Taste of Boston dinner with BU's new president Dr. Robert A. Brown, then ice skate at the Walter Brown Arena the next morning. Sip hot chocolate and stroll a promenade of student ice sculptures. Celebrate all that BU has been and is becoming, and create memories to cherish.

Each year, during Reunion Weekend, the College of Engineering presents alumni whose accomplishments have set them apart with the Distinguished Alumni Award. This year's ENG Awards Dinner will be held on May 13, 2006.

Past honorees have represented the broadest array of talent and experience and we hope to continue this tradition of quality in 2006.

We need your help in identifying alumni (even yourself) who have

made outstanding contributions in the following three categories:

Service to the Profession

Honors an alumnus/a whose work has significantly contributed to the advancement of their profession and brought them recognition within their field. Involvement in engineering societies, as long as they are active members who have made a significant contribution to the field, counts as service to the profession.

Service to the Community

Honors an alumnus/a who, whether through volunteer service or paid work, has made exceptional contributions to the betterment of their community or the circumstances of a group of people.

Service to the Alma Mater

Honors an alumnus/a who has enhanced the stature of the College of Engineering through their voluntary association with the University.

ENG alternative Fuel efforts

ENG professors Uday Pal and Srikanth Gopalan will lead a team of five university researchers working to lower the cost of creating the fuel cells.

While the partnership did not come to fruition until the Nov. 16 agreement, BU became acquainted with BTU International, Inc. a few years ago after the company attended one of ENG's biannual Emerging Technology conferences, Pal said.
