Applying for LEAP

All students who wish to apply to our LEAP program will have to fill out an application through our online application system. When selecting the LEAP program form the program selection option, LEAP applicants should choose “Master of Science” and then select “LEAP” from the degree options.

Application deadlines for LEAP follow the MS application deadlines listed on our Deadlines and Credentials page.

All students who apply for LEAP will be required to submit the same credentials as all other College of Engineering applicants, as well as meet additional requirements.

Admissions Requirements and Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in a non-engineering field

LEAP is uniquely designed for students who do not have an engineering background at the undergraduate level. If you have an engineering background and are interested in Master’s and PhD programs, please visit our Admissions page.

Grade of B (or higher) in at least one semester of calculus for math and science majors

  • This course must have been taken in college; AP calculus does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Applicants can consult the Calculus I course description for math and science majors for more details on what their previous course should have entailed.
