Graduate Practicum Requirement

The Master’s program at Boston University is designed to prepare students for further graduate study or for careers as practitioners, and eventual leaders, in industry in their respective fields. A key element on this path is resume-building project, clinical, research, or design opportunities that can be the basis for demonstrating competency and experience. In addition to providing in-depth technical coursework at the graduate level, students in the Master’s program are required to complete a practicum, fulfilled either with a thesis or through a range of course opportunities emphasizing individual or team-based projects to gain practical experience. Further details about the practicum requirement for individual degree programs can be found on the department websites.
