Master's Degree Programs


The College of Engineering offers a full range of master's programs aimed at preparing students for careers in industry or further graduate study. Our two degree programs are the technically-focused Master of Science program and the flexible Master of Engineering degree, which combines advanced technical work with leadership and management skills.

Both degree programs emphasize advanced technical coursework and include a practicum - a resume-building project, clinical, research, or design opportunity that can be the basis for demonstrating competency and experience. Master of Science

Specialized Master of Science programs provide advanced technical training and are ideal for the student seeking an advanced position in industry, or continued study towards a doctoral degree. A practicum design project complements the coursework.

Master of Engineering

The Master of Engineering program emphasizes advanced technical training, as well as the leadership and management skills you need to lead in project management, product development and design. The program includes an individual or team-based practicum design project and the flexibility to choose courses offered through BU’s renowned Questrom School of Business.
