Professor Ronald A. Roy is the recipient of the 2012 Edward T. Bryand Distinguished Engineer Award. This award was established in 1979 to recognize an individual, outside University of Maine, “who has by his/her activities, achievements, and scholarship brought distinction to the profession of engineering.”
The basic criteria used to determine a worthy nominee are: (i) achievements in engineering, research and public service; (ii) honors, and (iii) publications, patents, inventions, and/or other creative achievements.
Professor Roy was pleased to receive this award on Friday, November 9, 2012. “It is always extra special to be so recognized by your alma mater. I was both pleased to be able to attend the banquet and honored by the award. I have very fond memories of my days at Orono, and returned from my visit impressed with the scope and quality of the various programs and activities within the UMO College of Engineering.”
