Balancing User Satisfaction and Transportation Cost in the Hubway
The goal of this research is to minimize the city of Boston’s operational cost to run the Hubway bicycle system while increasing the user’s satisfaction. We’ll investigate how geography, climate, and neighborhood characteristics and amenities influence Hubway use and potential for expansion. This research will take into consideration the hardware expenses attached to each Hubway station, and the cost that is incurred through the process of redistributing bikes, which is a vital part of the Hubway system.
