Registration Opens SOON for ENACT’s 2014 State of the Science Conference, “Promoting Activity and Participation among Persons with Arthritis”
Registration opens this month for ENACT’S State of the Science conference Promoting Activity and Participation among Persons with Arthritis. The one-day conference will be held in Pentagon City, Virginia on April 6th, 2014. The conference will include innovative presentations and opportunities for participant discussion in three primary areas: rehabilitation, community, and employment. The dialogue created by bringing together experts in the fields of rheumatology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation will serve the ultimate goal of moving the arthritis activity and participation research and policy agenda forward. The Conference will be preceded by a New Investigator Workshop on Advancing Arthritis Research for new investigators during the afternoon of April 6th. The Workshop aims to enhance the capability of new investigators to employ innovative and novel research methods that can be used to address critical clinical research questions. The Workshop will include opportunities for individual mentoring, as well as presentations on using large data sets and selecting optimal outcome measures. Workshop mentors include Drs. David Felson, Alan Jette, Julie Keysor, and Michael LaValley. The Workshop, which will be offered free-of-charge, involves a competitive application process. New investigators are invited to submit an application.
