ENACT’s presence at this year’s American College of Rheumatology/Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals Annual Meeting focused on bringing participation and active living to the forefront of arthritis research. The meeting took place November 9-13, 2012 in Washington, DC.
Dr. Julie Keysor, PT, PhD, gave 2 talks, “Participation: Definitions and Current Measurement Approaches” and “Participation and Community Dwelling Adults with Arthritis.” Dr. Keysor also presented her work in a collaborative abstract “Factors contributing to Black and White Differences in ‘Willingness’ to Undergo Joint Replacement Surgery: The MOST Study” at the 2012 Summit on the Science of Eliminating Health Disparities.
Dr. Jessica Maxwell, PT, DPT, OCS, tied participation to her area of research and expertise, knee replacements, in her talk “Participation and Adults post Total Knee Joint Replacement.”
Rawan AlHeresh, MS, OT, ENACT pre-doctoral fellow, did a fantastic job in her ACR/ARHP debut with her talk, “Work Disability and Employment Retention.”
