The Boston University community at the Charles River Campus can be threatened by emergency and disaster situations both natural (such as flash flooding, hurricanes, tornados and fires) and man-made (such as hazardous materials accidents, resource shortages, civil disorders and terrorist threats).

The purpose of the Boston University Emergency Management website is to provide guidance and information to the response actions of University academic and administrative departments in crisis situations.

This website describes the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), protective actions and responses to the various situations.
