It takes a great number of systems to operate a university like ours. Lights, water, power, telecommunications, elevators, heating, ventilation and air conditioning all come to mind as utility systems that we sometimes take for granted. The staff of the Office of Facilities Management and Planning perform routine maintenance for over 350 University buildings, respond to emergencies, monitor energy use, renovate dormitories, clean buildings, and maintain landscaping.
When these systems are running smoothly, they’re the ones to thank. And, when these systems become inoperable, you should give them a call at 353-2105
This number accesses the Facilities Management and Planning Emergency Control Desk, a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week dispatch desk, providing service on an emergency basis. The Supervisor on duty will contact the necessary trades people and authorities to handle fire, flood, snow removal, or any other situation in which life and property are endangered.
