Bernice Lerner, EdD

 

Bernice Lerner has worked with teachers from urban, rural and suburban schools in the United States and has consulted with educators around the world. She conducts research in character education, and teaches college and graduate school courses on the Holocaust and character and ethics education. Among the many presentations she's given--at numerous forums--is "Educating Heart and Mind: The Theory and Practice of Character Education."

Before coming to the CAEC, Dr. Lerner served as director of continuing education at Hebrew College. There she conducted research in adult learning, executed a host of programs, and worked on numerous collaborative projects. Dr. Lerner holds degrees from Boston University’s School of Education, the Jewish Theological Seminary, and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her book, The Triumph of Wounded Souls: Seven Holocaust Survivors’ Lives, was published by the University of Notre Dame Press in the spring of 2004.
