The Political Economy of Development
A conference on the Political Economy of Development was held at Yale
University on March 16-18, 2001, featuring sessions on Institutions and
Development, Law and Property Rights, Democracy and Government Responsiveness,
Regulation and Political Economy, and Decentralization. The conference
was organized by Leonard Wantchekon of Yale’s Department of Political
Science and Economic Growth Center and by Dilip Mookherjee of Boston University’s
Department of Economics and Institute for Economic Development. Further
