Professional Placement InformationHire our Students and Alumni
The Department of Economics at Boston University offers several MA degree programs: the Master of Arts in Economics, the Master of Arts in Economic Policy (MAEP), and the Master of Arts in Global Development Economics (MAGDE). We also offer the Economics MA degree in two dual-degree programs: BA/MA (in the College of Arts and Sciences) and MA/MBA (with the Questrom School of Business). These programs provide rigorous training in economic theory and the quantitative methods for modern economic analysis, skills and knowledge that are much sought after in the marketplace. We are a highly ranked research department, and our outstanding faculty is fully committed to the teaching and professional success of our master’s students. Our graduates are well placed in many parts of the private sector—most notably in the consulting and financial industries, as well as in governments, international and nonprofit organizations throughout the world. Our students graduate from (and are admitted to) these programs in both the Fall and Spring Semesters, so our job candidates are available throughout the year.
