The BU Sustainable Neighborhood Lab and the City of Boston's Greenovate Program are co-hosting our 3rd annual Carbon Day at Copley Square, and we invite you to join us! Save the date - Wed Oct 16, 10am-2pm - and see below for more info.

Carbon Day is our signature outreach event that showcases all we do at BU and with our neighboring communities to increase Boston's carbon sustainability and quality of life. Invited or confirmed exhibitors include the Livable Streets Alliance, Boston Bikes, City of Boston Carbon Challenge, IBM Smarter Infrastructure, Converdant Electric Vehicles, Schneider Electric,350ma.org, the Learning Project, the Better Future Project, BU Sustainability Initiative, and more.

Livening things up will be the amazing bike percussionist Reynaliz Herrera and maybe even the pedal powered tunes of Melodeego, who have been featured on npr and cnn. We'll also have a public roundtable on "Toward a Fossil Free Transportation System". We also will be circulating a big BU banner to be signed by everyone at bu saying "BU thanks Mayor Menino for making Boston the Greenest City in the Nation" (its true - see http://blogs.marketwatch.com/energy-ticker/2013/09/18/how-green-is-your-town-u-s-cities-ranked-on-energy-efficiency/)

Please join us for as much or little of the event you can make, and if you'd like to exhibit with a table, bring a carbon-themed art piece, or volunteer some muscle power, please let us know - we can use all the help we can get! More info: www.bu.edu/energy/carbon-day-2013/
