Faculty
Core and affiliated faculty in the Division of Religious and Theological include members of the Department of Religion, faculty of the School of Theology with secondary appointments in the Division, and affiliated faculty from across the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, including but not limited to the Departments of Anthropology, Art History, Classics, English, History, Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, Psychology, Sociology, and The University Professors Program. Several programs of the Division also draw on the resources of other qualified Centers and Schools of the University.
Once approved by area coordinators and advisors, professors from these units may serve as major advisors and assist in the design and evaluation of individual programs and in the evaluation of qualifying examinations, theses, and dissertations. In addition, professors at institutions associated with the Boston Theological Institute (such as Andover-Newton, Harvard and Boston College) frequently serve on dissertation committees for doctoral candidates in the DRTS at Boston University.
