The design of this interdisciplinary program
is dictated by the competencies and academic
goals of the student. A strong sense of
self-direction is essential, given the
range of specialized concentrations in
religion and literature. Students may choose
courses and mentors from a wide range of
departments (e.g., Classics, English, Modern
Foreign Languages, Philosophy, Religion,
Theology, and University Professors) and
are strongly encouraged to attend and to
participate in the numerous special lectures,
seminars, and symposia offered annually
by the Luce
Program in Scripture and Literary Arts on
topics encompassed by religion and literature.
Degrees offered: Master
of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy
