Our team is here to make sure you have a wonderful time abroad in Dresden.

Silke Fimmel

Director BU Study Abroad Dresden Programs

silke

As Professor of German, Russian, and English, I have been teaching at TU Dresden as well as at Acadia University in Canada and at Wabash College in the United States.

Since 1998 I have been directing BU’s Study Abroad Programs in Dresden. I love my profession, because it allows me to combine my passion of working with young people with my ambition of conveying German language and culture to my students.

In my opinion, Dresden is an ideal place to live, because it uniquely combines historical architecture with modern life style.

Uta Jenzewski

Uta JenzewskiMy name is Uta and I studied business administration at the TU Dresden. I grew up in a little village not far away from Dresden, but I spent quite some time abroad. I took care of four kids during my au pair year in Massachusetts and I worked several times at Disneyland Paris.

I love spending time with people from different cultures and I am excited about welcoming and helping foreign students here in Dresden.

Jessica (Jess) Machurat

Jessica MachuratMy name is Jess and I come from Newburyport, Massachussetts. I graduated from BU’s College of Communication in 2011 with a major in Public Relations and a minor in German.

This is my third semester with BU Dresden. I studied abroad on this program as a liberal arts student in 2010 and fell in love with the city of Dresden. I made it a mission to come back ever since and am glad to be an RA for the program so that I  can help students enjoy Dresden as much as I do.

Laura Manuel

Laura Manuel

I was a student in the BU Dresden University Studies/Internship program for 3 semesters while majoring in German and English. I lived in Dresden for a year after I graduated, teaching English and translating, but meeting so many German engineers here converted me.

Now I’m in my third year studying materials science at Ohio State University, and I’m excited to be taking a semester off to show you guys how awesome Dresden is!

A short text about Laura will be added soon.
