Late Night Transportation Options On Campus
Out late? Don’t walk back to your residence hall alone. Here are some options for transportation around BU at night.
Escort Security Service
Members of the student-run escort security service are available to walk with you to your on-campus destination. Just call 617-353-4877 (the phone number is on the back of your BU ID, too.)
This service is available every night from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters. It does not run during the summer.
BU Shuttle/BU Bus
The BU Shuttle (or the BUS) runs a late night Charles River Campus Service that runs in the early morning hours. The late night schedule and specific stops are available on their website.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, the MBTA now runs late night bus and train service, including on the Green Line B train and the 57 bus that runs along Commonwealth Avenue. This is a pilot project that will last at least until the end of 2014.
There are many taxi services around Boston. We don’t endorse one service above any other, but we do recommend that you find one or two and program their numbers into your phone, even if you think you will never need one. It’s always good to be prepared.
There are also several phone applications that you can download to your smartphone that will send a cab to you and allow for you to pay for it via a stored credit card number. Uber and Hailo are two apps that serve the BU campus.
