Boston University is a part of the Boston Red Sox Green Team program! We will be sending 30-50 students to Fenway Park on certain game days to help with their newest recycling promotions.

What does the Green Team do?

Green Team volunteers will be report to the park 1 1/2 hours before one of our assigned games begins to promote the recycling program sponsored by Poland Spring via speaking with fans throughout the concourse and working an informational table. During the game, Green Team volunteers will walk up and down the aisles between innings to collect recyclable containers (water and soda bottles and empty beer cups.) Volunteers will complete their duties at the top of the 8th inning, and will be free to watch the remainder of the game from a designated area (even if it goes into extra innings!)

What do I get for being a Green Team member?

Green Team members will be given a t-shirt and hat to wear during the game, as well as a coupon for select food items from the concession stands. And, of course, being able to see a Red Sox game! Participants this year have seen games with two Grand Slams, Big Papi home runs galore and come from behind wins! Even if you aren't a Sox fan, it's still a great time, and the fans and organization really appreciate our help!

What games does Boston University have?

Our last game open for sign-ups this season was Friday, September 26. We are currently out of spaces for that evening, and have reached capacity on our waiting list as well.

If you have particpated in the Green Team during the 2008 season, you will be contacted with information on joining the multi-school Green Team for the playoffs when the playoff schedule is announced.

Please check back in the spring for more Green Team opportunities!
