Women's Music on Women's Day

Women’s Music on Women’s Day is a chamber music recital performed by Prism Trio - a Boston-based classical chamber ensemble founded by Boston University alumni Subaiou Zhang (violin), Dr. Sara Wilkins (cello) and Dr. Anna Arazi (piano) and dedicated to performing contemporary music, in particular written by women composers. The members of Prism Trio are seasoned classical performers, concertizing in the US and abroad. This program is a unique fruit of an international collaboration with the British concert series “Illuminate” under the artistic direction of Dr. Angela Elizabeth Slater. Women’s Music on Women’s Day is the first of the four collaborative concerts in Boston during the Spring, and Prism Trio is excited to present five World Premieres written for the members of the Prism Trio by British composers Angela Elizabeth Slater, Kerensa Briggs, Laura Shipsey, Blair Boyd and Sarah Westwood. In addition, the program features music by Lili Boulanger, Morfydd Owen and Judith Weir, the current Master of the Queen’s Music. The concert will take place on March 8, Friday, at 8PM at the New School of Music, 25 Lowell street, Cambridge, MA, 02138. The school is located about 5 minutes walk from Harvard Square, easily accessible by the MBTA Red Line, multiple buses and a car. Metered parking is available on adjacent Mount Auburn and Brattle streets. The building is not wheelchair accessible. Admission is $10 at the door.
