The fun never stops: where to find events after the first few weeks of school

The Terriers are back and flooding the Charles River Campus. For the past three weeks, white tents popped-up on open quads, grills fired up for barbeques, and bouncy houses inflated on turf fields.

Although it seems we just arrived, our finalized schedules, and the mountain of homework piled on our desks may suggest otherwise.

So what happens now? What is there to do without the free events, aside from study?

Well lucky for you, I have some good news. If you want your days to continue to be filled with food and fun, be sure to check the BU Calendar daily!

If you enjoyed the Weeks of Welcome events, check out the organizations they were hosted by, like the Catholic Center, BU Hillel, and the Community Service Center. They all continue their events throughout the year with open activities all of the time. For example, tomorrow, Saturday, September 22, UMOJA will host a student barbecue with music and games on COM Lawn.

Also, as you may know from attending SPLASH, BU has hundreds of student-run organizations. Just like people say “there’s an app for everything on the iPhone,” “there’s a club for everyone at BU”.  New membership is always encouraged.

Perhaps joining a club this semester  does not appeal to you or your schedule, BU also offers consistent weekly events like Coffee and Conversation, every Friday afternoon at 3:00pm in the Howard Thurman Center. The Community Service Center on the 4th floor of the GSU also has open opportunities for “one-time-only” service.

So in short, the fun never stops, you just need to decide where to have it!
