New Year, New GSU: Renovations taking place over break

It may be intersession, but we’re still hard at work here at BU. We’re excited that the GSU is getting some touchups done to make spaces even better for all of us. Here’s what is going on during break.

  • Two Food Court stations will receive facelifts over the winter break: Cranberry Farms and Copper Kettle.
  • The third floor is undergoing renovations. Five conference rooms, common spaces and their adjacent hallways are being completely redone. This includes the installation of new AV infrastructure and new paint, carpeting, ceilings, and lighting. This project is starting now during intersession, but will continue through the first half of the spring semester. The student meeting and study space this renovation will create is sorely needed!
  • The Community Service Center (CSC) is getting new carpet, but in keeping with the sustainable nature of their work, it will be repurposed carpet. Carpet tiles that are just a year old from 910 Commonwealth Avenue will be repurposed for this project.
