Helping Nepal

This past weekend’s earthquake in Nepal has devastated a region that means so much to many. The BU Nepalese community has come together with Marsh Chapel to assist with relief efforts and provide support to those who need it.

Marsh Chapel Global Ministries will hold a vigil for Nepal this Friday at 7pm on Marsh Plaza. In addition, Marsh Chapel is also collecting donations for Nepal. Contact Brittany Longsdorf, Chaplain for International Students, for more information.

In addition, BU graduate student Hari P Paudel asked us to share the following information with the BU community:

I am a BU student from Nepal. My country Nepal is in traumatic condition from deadly earthquake hit on 25 of April. This is my effort to raise fund to help those victims.

The death toll from earthquake is already over 5000 and is expected to go up as search and rescue operation is still going on. Thousands have been injured, countless have lost their home. Survivors are spending days and night on open ground even without tents. They are need of basic humanitarian help like food, water, warm clothes and tents. There are already numbers of organizations helping but they need fund to support their mission. I am making this personal request to you if there is anything our BU community can do to help to those in needs. Literally, every penny counts. I want to plea to you to donate whatever you can. The money you donate though link goes directly to Red Cross.

Thank you so much for your help.
Hari P Paudel

BU’s chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha is also collecting donations for Nepal. One of the group’s members is from Nepal.
