Halloween Merriment

Dear Friends,

The City is abuzz with the merriment of Halloween.

As you plan your evenings, keep in mind that large public celebrations are commonplace. It’s fun to jump around, chant, dance, and sing with others, but you should remain aware of your surroundings. We care about you and urge you to make plans to get home in a safe manner; stay away from people acting in a way that may harm you; be alert for scammers, thieves, and people who may try to victimize you; don’t overindulge in drinking alcoholic beverages (if you choose to drink); make sure your friends get home and keep an eye out for each other; and, comply with any police advisories and requests.

We hope you’ll enjoy all the fun. We’ve put together information on Halloween activities on and around the Charles River Campus and Boston. For additional ideas – especially if you’re adventurous (and over 21 years old) – we also suggest you take a look at BostInno’s Halloween events guide. We also worked with CO Everywhere to put together a website that filters public social streams in real-time based on a specific location on or around campus. Regardless of your plans – yes, have a plan each night – for Halloween, please keep yourself safe.

We’ll also keep you up to speed via BU Today, @BU_Tweets, BU Police, and @DeanElmore on Twitter.

Sweet dreams of pleasant surprises from our routines that are about to happen this week within the annual festiveness that comes with Halloween. We hope your costume is hella wily and everything plus, and that your weekend is wicked cheery. Have all the fun you can stand, but above all else, stay safe,
