World AIDS Day

BU has put together a collaborative effort to recognize World AIDS Day. Please view the schedule below, or visit the Community Service Center’s website for more information.

Tuesday November 29th
10 am – 1pm: Free HIV/AIDS testing. You may pre-register in the GSU Link or just walk-in. Location: GSU 3rd floor

Wednesday November 30th
3-7pm: Free HIV/AIDS testing. You may pre-register in the GSU Link or just walk in. Location: Student Health Services

5:30-7pm: AIDS @ 30 Stories from members of the School of Public Health and Medicine communities share their thoughts on 30 years of HIV/AIDS impacting the world. Location: Keefer Auditorium, 1st floor, Medical School Building (72 E. Concord Street, Boston, MA 02118.)

Thursday, December 1st
9am – 5pm World Aids Day GSU Link Information Tables

3- 7pm Free HIV/AIDS testing. You may pre-register in the GSU Link or just walk in. Location: Student Health Services

7:30p.m “Global meets Local” Come and hear first person testimonials from South Africa performed by your favorite people at BU, we will connect with live footage and there will be a chance to send videos to the villages in South Africa! This event is in benefit of TRIAD Trust, the non-profit organization working on the ground in the Northern territories of South Africa. Location: Law Auditorium

Friday, December 2nd
1:00 – 1:30pm Live stream video interview with Georgia Arnold and Dean Elmore. Dean Elmore interviews MTV’s Georgia Arnold about her work with the Staying Alive Foundation and MTV Europe’s Shuga series. Location: TBA

2-5pm – Free HIV/AIDS testing. Either sign-up before hand in the GSU link or walk into the clinic.

3-5 pm – Coffee and Conversation with Dean Elmore and meet Georgia Arnold. Coffee and Conversation talks about the worldwide AIDS epidemic with the Staying Alive Foundation’s Georgia Arnold. Location: Howard Thurman Center

Organizations working in the planning committee: FaceAIDS, Dance Marathon, School of Public Health, Undergraduate Public Health Association, UNICEF, ONE Campaign, Interfraternity Council, Student Athlete Advisory Council.
