April 27
BU Red Sox Green Team
We will be sending 30-50 students to Fenway Park on certain game days to help with their newest recycling promotions and to collect recyclables throughout the ballpark.
What does the Green Team do?
Green Team volunteers will be report to the park an hour before one of our assigned games begins to prepare for their duties during the game. During the game, Green Team volunteers will walk up and down the aisles between innings to collect recyclable containers (water and soda bottles and empty beer cups.) Volunteers will complete their duties at the top of the 8th inning, and will be free to watch the remainder of the game from a designated area (even if it goes into extra innings!)
What do I get for being a Green Team member?
Green Team members will be given a t-shirt and pass that must be worn during the game, as well as a coupon for select food items from the concession stands. And, of course, being able to see a Red Sox game! Last year’s participants saw games with two Grand Slams, Big Papi home runs galore and come from behind wins! Even if you aren’t a Sox fan, it’s still a great time, and the fans and organization really appreciate our help!
