Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

The Office of Disability Services offers employment and volunteer opportunities in the following positions:

Reader:
Work-study and student employee (limited availability)
These individuals read and audiotape textbooks and other course materials for use by students with disabilities. Student Organizations are encouraged to contact the Office of Disability Services if interested in a rewarding community service group experience.

eText Editor:
Work-study and student employee (limited availability)
These individuals assist in the production of textbooks and other materials in alternate formats & electronic text (eText).

Notetaker:
Work-study and student employee
These individuals take notes during in-class lectures for students with disabilities that interfere with their ability to take notes themselves. No experience needed, but must be reliable and a good notetaker.

Academic and Research Assistant:
Work-study and student employee (limited availability)
These individuals work with students with disabilities to assist them in library research, laboratory functions or on-going reading assignments.

Scribe:
Work-study and student employee (limited availability)
These individuals work with students with disabilities to assist during written examinations.
